Deputy Governor

Sections 34 – 35

The Deputy Governor, previously known as the Chief Secretary, remains in the Cabinet and the Legislative Assembly as a non-voting member. This post-holder continues to serve as head of the Civil Service under the authority of the Governor and by virtue of the Constitution, rather than the Public Service Management Law (PSML) as was formerly the case. The Deputy Governor also acts for the Governor on occasions when that post-holder is absent from the Islands, or in any other capacity that the Governor decides.
