Electoral Boundaries Commission

Sections 88 – 89

What, Why:

The Constitution required that upon its implementation in November 2009 and at least every eight years following that an Electoral Boundary Commission (EBC) be established to review the boundaries of the electoral districts and submit a report to the Governor and LA containing recommendations for changes therein.

Who

Membership will consist of –

  • A chairman appointed at the Governor’s discretion;
  • One member appointed by the Governor on the advice of the Premier; and
  • One member appointed by the Governor on the advice of the Leader of the Opposition.
