The Legislature

Part 4 Sections 59 – 93

What, When

An increase in elected members and a reduction in those who are appointed, enhanced fairness in the standing orders governing procedure in the LA, voter-initiated referendums, and annual reporting on Government finances are among the changes to the local legislature that the new constitution effects. Although in most cases these will take effect following the commencement of the constitution, the increase in elected membership will not take place until the Electoral Boundary Commission concludes its report and until the Legislative Assembly is next dissolved.
