Jason Webster, Research Officer
Mr. Jason Webster is a young Caymanian who recently graduated from the University of Western Ontario where he obtained a Bachelors degree in Political Science. He joined the Cayman Islands Government in March 2007 as Research Officer with the Cabinet Office. However, since then, Mr. Webster has since been seconded to the Constitutional Review Secretariat and his main responsibilities include preparing the Constitution Comparison Graph which compares the constitutions of over eight British Overseas Territories and carrying out other related research activities.
When asked why he feels his duties at the Secretariat are an important component to the constitutional reform exercise, Mr. Webster’s response was that “carrying out the necessary research into the development of constitutional reform enables us to have due regard to areas that are of particular relevance to our advancement as a society. It also provides us with an opportunity to craft a lasting document which can accommodate the changing needs of the Caymanian people for generations to come.”
